| AUTHOR NOTES: | If you've already read this story on SAJV, well, you can skip it, it's gone through some changes (see below) but otherwise it's pretty much the same thing. Unless you really liked it, because this version is a little better. The magic of rearrangement… But also, I wasn't sure that their reasons for their behavior were so clear to me in that version. Okay, they were clear to me, but I don't know if I communicated them very well. In short, another version of a Jules deflowering story. However, I choose to leave the erotic stuff to the erotic writers (just not a skill I possess, I'm afraid), and so this is a story about sex without the sex, hence the R rating. Takes place, I think, at an indeterminate point in the future, after the rather overwhelming emotional onslaught of SOTR/VC/BOK. I wasn't going to write this story. Really, I was working on something else, with far more plot, but this just happened. I don't know why, too much folk music or something (Really, I feel that my soundtrack is largely responsible for this, but then I'd have to admit that what I've written here is just a massively anachronistic piece of songficJ). Originally, I just had to post before I edited the whole thing to death. However, I realize now that there is no such thing as editing something to death. Because if I had really edited the story to death, I would have noticed that my introduction set the story up as being told from Jules' memory - and then switched at certain points to Rebecca's POV. So what was in many ways a far superior introduction had to be scrapped, and has been replaced with an in media res kind of thing as Gerty put it to me once. I wish I had caught that BEFORE I posted to the largest group, but at least I've fixed it for the fic devotees on SJJVA, and for the archive... |
