| AUTHOR'S NOTES: | Chatsworth, the most disdained character in SAJV needed to be defended, so I wrote this story for him. It addresses Chatsworth and Rebecca’s working relationship and how the service sometimes works; ways Rebecca hasn’t had to deal with before. It also examines Rebecca and Phileas’ relationship under Victorian society rules. The show never said much about how the rest of the Fogg family looked at our heroes. Rebecca is what my grandmother refers to as a "damned old maid" at something over thirty. Also, as Queen Victoria and Prince Albert spent the last ten or so years of his life trying to make Europe one big happy family through inter-marriage, it had to look strange for the Queen to have allowed her to stay single so long. I tied together some bits and pieces from various shows to help create a framework. Also, this is a re-edited version of my first posting in the original Book of Knowledge. I have had a lot more practice and feedback now and have fixed a number of problems. |
