This is easier than a story page - most of your work is already done. All you have to do is enter the text specific to your series.

In the first line from the top, replace "Enter Your Series Title Here" with your series title. This is the title of your series, so don't put any chapter numbers or subtitles. To the left of your title should be (:title and to the right should be :).

In the third line from the top, replace "Write series summary here." with a one or two line description of your series. To the left of your description should be (:description and to the right should be :).

Now we get down to those crazy bars.

  • In the ||!TITLE: section, replace "Enter Your Series Title Here" with the text you used in the title section above.
  • In the ||!AUTHOR: section, replace "Enter your name here" with your full name.
  • In the ||!CATEGORY/TYPE: section are a whole slew of search terms that might apply to your series. Delete the terms that don't apply and add terms that do apply. Be careful not to delete the [[! in front of a term that does apply - that code tells your series title to appear on that Category page. You can also add search terms that you think may best represent your story in a search engine and help a reader to find it (like Romance, Tradgedy, Comedy, Humor, Angst, etc.). If enough people use a particular term, it will be turned into a category.
  • In the ||!RATING/WARNINGS: section, delete the terms that don't apply and add terms that do apply.
  • In the ||!MAIN CHARACTERS: section, list the names of main characters that a user might use as search terms.
  • In the ||!STATUS: section, remove the category that doesn't apply.

Click the SAVE button, then click the EDIT link on the upper right toolbar.

Find the section at the bottom of this page that says END TEXT HERE. In the (:pagelist code just beneath it

  1. Replace WORD with a title of your series with no spaces (titleofyourseries).

Click the SAVE button.

Click on the AUTHORS link on the menu to the right and click on your name on the Authors page - this should list all of your Story Menus.

  1. Click on the first story in the series
  2. Click the EDIT link
  3. Copy and past the following code (ignore the and ) at the top of the page (:thingie: WORD:), where WORD is the word you have chosen to represent your series.
  4. Click the SAVE button

Repeat these steps to add the WORD code to each story in your series.

Don't worry about the commentbox code at the bottom of the page - that will provide readers with a comment box to leave comments about your series. Note - only logged in users can see the comment entry box and leave a comment, but all readers will be able to read comments.

If you don't want to have a commentbox on your series, please feel free to delete the entire line of code at the bottom of the page.

  1. Delete all of the text from START READING HERE to END TEXT HERE and hit SAVE.

After you delete, you should see all of the stories from your series listed on this page.

END TEXT HERE
